There is an estimated multi-billion dollar global market for anti-scarring drugs, and Renovo aims to be first to market with a scar reduction pharmaceutical drug in the US and Europe to capitalise on this huge, unmet market need.

In June 2007 Renovo announced that it had signed an exclusive licensing agreement with Shire plc to develop and commercialise Juvista, its lead product for the reduction of scarring. As part of this agreement Renovo retained all rights to Juvista in the European Union.
